They don't go into sexual details, it's just infer-able. But actually, there is nothing graphic in these books at all. In the 3rd book Blair and Serena go to the beach topless and sooo many other encounters. Serena has all sorts of sexual rumors going around, Blair wants to sleep with Nate, one character from Nate's point of view of a major turn on because of her breast size. SEXUAL BEHAVIOR Of course! The guys in these books are obsessed with females. This book is filled with terrible, terrible, terrible role models. Sorry, but if you're looking for a good role model go somewhere else. There are also a few notes where it makes you realize how lucky you are not having to deal with that. POSITIVE MESSAGES Although there are few, a couple of the characters realize they have problems. We also learn about the negative side of teen image, instead of untruthful Disney versions. It's a major need for her to get into college. I'm not saying parents should toss the books at their kids or anything saying 'read!' but how else are we going to learn it? Which is better? Them exploring pornographic/adult content over TV or through a book where your mind creates the images?ĮDUCATIONAL Blair cares a lot about her school work. With Disney shows these days trying to reach out and completely failing at grabbing the ten and up crowd, we need a good book with sex, drugs, and drinking. The characters are terrible rolemodels to say the least but I personally think its good. I started reading them and instantly got sucked in. I'm mature for my age and love books with terrible gossip, and just total guilty pleasure. I'm reading these books right now at thirteen.
